Hi folks!

A quick Mayday Steam rally report.

The weather was terrific yesterday (Saturday), today was very cold and windy, but even by the time I left site, which was after 5pm, we had no rain.

There were numerous technical difficulties with the organs, Whites had a cypher, Jim Cheetham's van had been leaking and all the music books were damp, then his generator packed up, Dale Riley was having problems with the organ vehicle, so he hadn't brought it, the ex-Stuart Marti-Bowler Dean, now belonging to George which I operate, was sounding rather wheezy, but I found the problem and I have posted a message in the Organ Building and Technical section, because it is a standard fault with organs!

Jim Cheetham had acquired another generator today, so he was playing ok, they had the music books drying out all yesterday! Not sure if Whites had fixed the cypher problem, though.

There was another organ at the rally, the Excelsior 'hand-turned' on the back of George Lomas's electric car.

Apart from that, there is still another day to go...so weather permitting it should be a good day!

Glad the weather stayed dry Dave some parts of the country have not been so lucky.
Had a phone call from my Son earlier today, he was in Stratford on Avon and read in the Local paper that there was a Vintage Event on somewhere in that area with Willem Kelders "Victory" in attendance, so decided to have a look, but changed his mind when he saw the state of the ground as he had not taken his Wellies.
